WHALE ON THE BEACH !

It is a Finback, about 60' long.

It came on the beach in Southampton Village Sunday April 3, 2005.

They're going to cut it up and bury it at the beach.

According to history books, this used to happen all the time. They had laws on who had rights to which parts. The Shinnecock Indians received the fin and tail, believing they had spiritual significance. I wonder if those laws apply today?
